Looking for the most stunning view of the city? No need to look further, N Seoul Tower is the place to be. Not only does this place let you view the city and its harmonious mountain backgrounds, it is also considered the landmark of Seoul. This tower symbolizes Seoul's humble beginnings and its the country's first broadcasting tower. The tower sits on top of Mount Namsan. While you are here, take advantage of the view and take it all in. You can see the beauty of Seoul's contrasting vibe - the bustling city and the picturesque view of nature.

It is common for lovers to go here and "lock" their love with padlocks, reminiscent of Pont des Arts in Paris. Of course, we wanted to leave a piece of ourselves in Seoul forever so we also purchased one for us. While visiting Seoul, this is worth your trip since it gives you 360 degree views of Seoul from up above. There's also restaurants and cafes once you reach the top.

HOW TO GET TO N SEOUL TOWER?

  • You can take a 7 minute cable car to the top of the mountain (which is the base of the tower).
  • For free you can walk up a huge, huge, huge, windy stone staircase. It has benches along the way and its lush forest-like surroundings are nice for pictures.
We chose the cable cars, but be warned, unless you take a taxi or tour bus to the cable cars, they are a mini-adventure to find via subway. Here are the directions how to get here via subway:
  1. Get to Myeongdong Station (line 4).
  2. Take exit 3 and look left. You’ll see a really wide road with a convenience store on the corner in front of you. Walk down this street.
  3. You’ll see Pacific Hotel. The road splits in two around the hotel so stick to the right side.
  4. Eventually the road runs into a flight of stairs. Take those stairs up and you’ll see the cable car building on your right. Can’t miss it.
Or you can always take a taxi from Myeongdong Shopping Area.

These photos are so beautiful. Seoul is somewhere I've always wanted to go but not had the opportunity to visit yet. I like how you said the city is a mixture of old and new. The skyscrapers look stunning against the mountain backdrop.

Such gorgeous photos of the city. I love all those locks, too. I know a lot of places do that, but the ones there are so colorful!

I had no idea that Seoul had a lock bridge like Paris! I heard they were taking down the bridge in Paris as well so at least your lock will stay in Seoul for years to come!

My sister lived near Seoul when her husband was stationed there and I remember her trip to Seoul Tower! I wonder if they'll be able to keep the locks or if they'll take them down like the bridge in Paris?

I love your photos! We were in Seoul for a six-hour layover and almost did a city tour, but decided to shower and sleep instead. Now I wish we'd gone out and explored. I'm glad you had a good time.
