A TALE FROM BRUGES (Brugge, Belgium)

Always there has been an adventure just around the corner
- and the world is still full of corners.
 - Roy Chapman
We love fall season in Europe, weather is great, the color of the trees are changing (which we love seeing) and not a lot of tourist. Coined as the Venice of the North, we took a train down from Brussels for a day trip. Bruges or Brugge in Dutch is a picturesque cobbled lanes and dreamy canals link exceptionally photogenic market squares lined with soaring towers, historic churches and old whitewashed almshouses. Carriage rides make me feel like I'm a princess. I surely am no princess but he always tries to makes me feel like one.

We are travellers in a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling, dancing in the eddies of whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a PRECIOUS MOMENT. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. - Paula Coehlo  | The Alchemist

We went back to Brussels charmed and captivated what Bruges has to offer and we definitely recommend anyone to visit Bruge for a day or two.

This is why we escape - this is the type of thing money cannot buy.

We took they rain from Amsterdam to Belgium, it was around 2-3 hours train ride, as far as I can remember. It was both our first time here in Belgium so it was fun discovering a country together. What makes Brussels really special? Seafood in great restaurants, the smell of hot waffles on a cold winter's day, cafes and pubs that never close, the cosmopolitan but neighborly feel. Don't forget the Belgian Chocolates, Belgian Beers and fries.

It is surrounded by guildhalls, Town Hall and the Breadhouse.

Manniken Pis, the landmark statue of Brussels. It shows a little boy peeing into a fountain. The statue is dressed in costume several times each week, according to a published schedule which is posted on the railings around the fountain. His wardrobe consists of several hundred different costumes, many of which may be viewed in a permanent exhibition inside the City Museum, located in the Grand Place, immediately opposite the Town Hall. We toured around by ourselves in Brussels and took a day trip to Brugge via train. Like any other big cities in Europe, it was easy to navigate from train station to train station.  We enjoyed our stay in Brussels and capped it off with an awesome seafood dinner.
