KHMER TEMPLES: PART 2 (Siem Reap, Cambodia)

It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I still have to go, how much more there is to learn. Maybe that's enlightenment enough - to know that there is no final resting place in the mind, no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom for me, is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go. - Anthony Bourdain

We continued to see all of Siem Reap's temple on our second day here in Cambodia. You need at least 2-3 days just to see all the Khmer Temples. Even if you get templed-out or temple fatigue, please try to see almost all of them. Each temple offers different distinctive character that will take your breath away.

We occasionally plan trips around occasions and anniversaries but today happens to be Brock's birthday. To my husband, I am always grateful to be your wife. Every little thing about you makes me so happy that we're together. I love you more than just to the moon and back.

Bayon Temple is the heart of of Angkor Thom. It is a Buddhist temple that is very old, possessed with great beauty and splendor in the Angkor Kingdom. Bayon Temple is one of the famous temple after Angkor Wat.

When you see the magnificent Khmer Temples, you will feel the wonder and magic of how this people from old times constructed this temples with rudimentary tools. It is amazing how much hard work, labor, time and materials has been invested on this. For us, the architecture of the temples in the Angkor Kingdom rivals that of the Great Pyramids of Egypt.

I have to comment on two things. 1) You guys are perfectly/fashionably dressed - kudos to you for that! 2) I love the post-processing effect on your photos, really speaks to the nostalgia of the culture and civilization of the region.

I am always amazed by your stunning photos! The temple carvings are breathtakingly beautiful and so remarkable considering the tools with which the craftsman were working.

This looks like an amazingly thrilling time indeed. The Khmer Temples are just so interesting and have so so much history. It makes life now look like nothing compared to the work people used to do back then. Thanks for sharing.

What an awesome way to spend a birthday! And yet again you manage to look so stylish when I know it's such a hot place :-) Our favourite was the Ta Phrom temple, but there are so many to choose from. Lovely pics by the way!

The temples in Siem Reap are so awesome. Thank God, the marauders didn't manage to steal all the statuary. My favorite is the Angkor Wat temple complex and pink temple Banteay Srei.

I have been wanting to go to Cambodia for a while but my boyfriend hasn't conditioned his mind enough to convince himself that he wants to go to Cambodia, too. You took great photos and these just make me want to plan a trip there soon.

I've been to Angkot Wat 3 times already and my favorites would be Bayon and Ta Phrom. Their ancient architecture is really impressive.
