“This is my living faith, an active faith, a faith of verbs:
to question, explore, experiment, experience, walk, run, dance, play,
eat, love, learn, dare, taste, touch, smell, listen, speak, write, read, draw,
provoke, emote, scream, sin, repent, cry, kneel, pray, bow,
rise, stand, look, laugh, cajole, create, confront, confound,
walk back, walk forward, circle, hide, and seek.”

This is our second stop on our Canadian road trip. La belle vie means the beautiful life in French. Montreal is truly a beautiful city. Montreal is a cultural metropolis, festive, open, proud, historic, French, lively and charming. We had one of the most unforgettable meal here in Montreal at Au Pied de Cuchon by Chef Martin Picard. We ate here on our first night in Montreal and we were absolutely blown away how good the food was. We don't mind driving back here just to eat at his restaurant again.
Duck in a Can (Canard en Conserve) is one of the most popular dishes to try here at Au Pied de Cuchon. This meal is unbelievably good - its like I died and went to heaven with this awesomely prepared meal.
The next day we decided get a taste of this lively city and where else to go to get a glimpse of the city? Parc Mont Royal. It gives a stunning panoramic view of Montreal. We then visited Saint Joseph Oratory. The church is ginormous! A visit to Montreal is not complete without seeing this church.

In the afternoon, we decided to see Old Montreal, it has a European vibe and we loved roaming around the streets.
Heaven for me is like a farmer's market. Me and Brock just loves going to markets all over the world, as you can see in my other pictures on our travels. We love food and farmer's market maybe as close as I can get of heaven on earth. This is Jean Talon Market in Montreal, you can get the freshest produce, bread, cheese, meat, seafood and of course, maple syrup here in this market.
A trip to Montreal is not complete without visiting Schwartz's Deli - a true landmark in Canada, serving the best smoked meats for around 80 years. If a restaurant stood the test of time, they are doing something great with their food, and thanks to tradition, we were able to taste this famous sandwich!
We decided to stay in Montreal for 2 nights since we wanted to see Quebec longer. We left Montreal with surprising admiration with Montreal's vibe and of course, with full and happy bellies. We could not stop talking about when are we going to go back here again to try more of Chef Martin Picard's food and other Montreal classics. Montreal has truly touched our hearts and satisfied our hunger for good food. No doubt, we will definitely visit Montreal again.
