OLD SPANISH TOWN (Cuzco, Peru)

Make voyages.
Attempt them.
There is nothing else.
- Tennessee Williams
Picture
A small city with old Spanish flare and is often times called the Historic Capital of Peru. This was the center of the Inca Empire before the Conquistadors came to invade Peru. This is our last day in Peru and we are savoring it slow and steady. We had a hectic few days climbing the steep steps of Machu Picchu and long walks to get to see other Inca architectures, at the end of this trip, we are very tired.

There is a lot to see and do here so make sure you include Cuzco on your visit to Machu Picchu. Outside the main square of this town, it doesn't feel like touristy at all. Cuzco is also well known for its gastronomy. Make sure you eat at the local market, very cheap and you will get great meals if you are not picky. The further you go outside the main square, you will get more local food and don't be afraid to go in small restaurants, you might discover something good. We had great meals in Cuzco and this is how I would like to end our Peru trip, eating great food.

Sadly, we have to say goodbye to Peru. Like any other trips that we do, we keep the memories and unforgettable experiences in our hearts and minds, forever woven in our existence in this world.

This is on my bucket list! I homeschooled my kids and ever since we learned about Machu Picchu, I've wanted to explore there! I am sure I'd be exhausted, but it would be worth it! It looks like you had an amazing experience!
