It's the weekend! It means another weekend for us to explore while the weather is sunny and hot. We promised each other to explore Korea during summertime and here we are. In a country where Buddhism is prevalent, you will see a lot of Buddhist temples around the area. Today, we decided to see Gakwonsa Temple, it is well known for its giant Buddha and just 30 minutes away from where we live. The green colored statue is made out of bronze. It is truly one of the most beautiful statue of Amita-bul that you can kind find here in Korea. The giant Buddha is 15 meters high and weighs 60 tons. The picturesque location (seated at the foot of the mountain) is what makes this Buddhist temple all the more special and worth our visit!
“You are the community now. Be a lamp for yourselves. Be your own refuge. Seek for no other. All things must pass. Strive on diligently. Don’t give up.” - Gautama Buddha
(It's just apropos to quote Buddha on this one!)

They are praying by walking around in circles next to the giant Buddha statue.
