WE STOOD BEFORE THIS WONDER (Cairo, Egypt)

You will achieve a grand dream, a day at a time, so set goals for each day /
not long and difficult projects,
but chores that will take you, step by step, toward your rainbow.
Write them down, if you must, but limit your list so that
you won't have to drag today's undone matters into tomorrow.
Remember that you cannot build your pyramid in twenty-four hours.
Be patient. Never allow your day to become so cluttered that you neglect your most important goal / to do the best you can,
enjoy this day, and rest satisfied with what you have accomplished.
- Og Mandino
For a country like Egypt, with a lot of history to offer, you need at least a week or more to discover the entire country. Our sojourn in the desert began in Giza Plateau and we saw the ancient and modern day wonder - The Giza Pyramids. The historic site is surrounded by the chaos of the city, but there it was peaking and standing still - the great pyramids. Foreigners from far flung lands visit this great wonder to experience the desert while riding a camel and checking off their ultimate bucket list of seeing one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Living in the Middle East for quite a few years, the desert and the camel rides are not new to us, so we opted not to do the touristic way to see the pyramids. Don't get discouraged by the chaos of the city, just sit back and relax and concentrate on the pyramids. I am still amazed till this very day, how ancient Egyptians managed to build this magnificent and huge structure with rudimentary tools.

Beautiful photos. They capture two people who adore each other as well as the famous pyramids. So it's double the wonder! (And I really like the one of the camel on the guide's shoulder, too). Fun post.

Beautiful photos! Seeing the pyramids in Egypt has always been very high on my bucket list. It's nice to see that it didn't look like it was too crowded when you visited :)

There are just some destinations that every traveler needs to visit at some point and Egypt is one of them - it must be awe inspiring to stand before something so legendary.

I went to Egypt as a child with my family but only got to go to Luxor. I'd love to go back and visit Cairo and the pyramids at Giza. It looks like you had a lot of fun. It amazing me too that they managed to build such extraordinary structures thousands of years ago. Great post!
